they do look very simple but dont create the tidiest of logs

You are limited to 230mm (9") dia logs. If the timber is dry you will get a lot of shatter and therefore waste. Finished length is not always consistant. How ever the are very fast on small dia green timber, which is what they are used on in Finland.

That looks great for Birch cordwood etc. mind you the outfeed conveyor could do with speeding up a bit

Does anyone know how much they cost, had a quick google, only came up with Foundation Firewood, who weren't giving much away.

Hi everyone,

I did just wonder that, its a simple fast machine.Doesnt set the best of standards with the finished product.I have seen them with cracked cutting discs if thats what its called. Also chains underneath stretched and wooden blocks shoved in to tighten them. My thoughts were could anybody create a firewood business using a Bilke ? Not that i am thinking of doing it myself but i know that there is alot of them been sold.

I'm with you..... it's always nice to get the logs over the truck bonnet!

I've always liked the look of them for slabwood and crunching up offcuts, never had a go with one tho'. I assume you can set the log length nice and short to give handy little nuggety logs for small burners?
