Where to buy 1inch spacers / firring strips

What about ripping in half those plastic recycled roof battens?.

 

It's an investment but they'll never rot or deform, I had wondered if the spacers have to hardwood as I guess they might leave sap marks.

Ouch! £1.40 per m is pretty spicy.

The last lot we sold out to others worked out at 65p each for 4ft long 1 x 0.75in. I suppose that was fresh sawn, mind. But they don't take long to dry off.

I quite like doing them, which I know goes against the grain for most people

Happy to bang them on a pallet if anyone needs them who isn't in the South East.

 Thanks dude. We do bigger trade orders, and have just started monthly open days at the workshop for dry timber and hobby boards. Next one is Friday and Saturday 24th and 25th Feb.
