I saw I think two of these (maybe only one - bit fuzzy the old noodle) at a dispersal auction down past chichester a few years ago. Can't remember the name of the firm that was being retired, big outfit though, actually where I bought the Dolmar saw mentioned in your other thread. The Massey(s) were bought by a dealer for big money, very clean machines. Tractor Porn:thumbup:

Looks like that beast could go cheap!

If its as he says with "no leaks at all", it will be even rarer! They really were like a cullinder!

His refernce to "only 7 ever made" must be to do with it being a forwarder as there were many 1250's around 25-30 years ago, but not sure if it would have a crane fitted as new?

haha yeah the hydraulic pump packed up on my cousins and it was in rather poor condition anyway so that why he sold it

nah they werent fitted with a crane as new, they were designed for big farms basicly, but were good for in the forest, easy to mount a crane to.

During 1971 MF in america released the MF 1500 and 1800 rated at 150 and 180 drawbar horsepower from a caterpiller V8 disel engines. Such was the success of these tractors in america that MF decided a British equivilant should be produced and hence the MF 1200 was introduced in 1972

Rated at 105 and 112 horsepower respectively, the 1200 and 1250 articulated tractors were big machines in their day, with remendouse traction and pulling power they were ideally suited for heavy cultivation work in the UK and Europe

cheers for that i was getting confused with the 1500 :)

there was one on ebay last year with a timber crane mounted on it, dont think it made a lot from memory,

The engine parts are easy to get, but i have been told that as soon as they start playing up with stearing and hydrulics they can be a right pain due to all the hoses,
