David brown 900 tractor with log splitter on the back help!!!

They would mostly all be petrol engines, there are a couple of diesel version clones all made on China probably by the same factory.

 

But they all use the same hi/lo rpm pump setup at an ear piercing 3600rpm, ear protection required and if on petrol they are very thirsty 2-3 gallon a day.

 

I'm not knocking them, I've a petrol rock machinery one in the shed as a backup and it's what I started with but soon realised they have a ferocious petrol habit.

Never being bothered about noise as can wear ear defenders.

 

From limited exprience do seem to get gassed by the exhaust though when using a PTO splitter esp if wind is changing direction etc or if its a very  still day.

 

 

 

Doesn't seem to be an issue that bothers other people though.
