i like the V.T i tried the distel and it gets a bit muddled and you have to sort it out, vt is perfect catchs every time i tried mine a foot off the ground and loosed it off then dropped onto it and it caught perfect, i find you have to set the distel after longer periods of it being loose.

i do use the distel on my lanyard though.

i want a pantin too, ive got the HC :) where did you get your stuff from? how was the service.

I tried the pantin out couple weeks back at the south east arbtalk meet, and loved it. so decided to get myself one.

I bought my stuff from Fr Jones and Son (site sponser) and the service is always top notch! and prices are good too.

Bought the same set up myself about 6 months ago and have never looked back. ;)

All i'm thinking now is a left foot mounted pantin, just to speed up the ascent(and relieve the right leg wang i get after a long haul up)

Just play about with various knots and as soon as you find the one that works for you you'll know it.

Oh, buy a small biner to pop through the hole in the pantin, stops the rope slipping out. ;)

One thing you need to do is to get the tape that goes under your foot adjusted to the correct length and then lock the tail back under the other bit of tape, or else it will slip and be a pain.

I think when they are new the tail of the tape comes out on the outside of the pantin. One way to lock it off is to reverse this so the tail comes out on the inside then fold it up under the ankle strap.

Heres one I did earlier!!!!!!!
