Hi guys, I'm trying to source a cheaper chinese carb for my ms181c I can find the non easy start ones but not C1Q-S122B model which has the connection at the top for the prime bubble, I did find one on a site called Aliexpress but reading reviews on that site, looks like I would be lucky to receive the carb.

If anyone has an idea of a supplier I would very grateful or maybe they just don't exist and I will have to pay for genuine parts?

Thanks

Mick

I have bought through Aliexpress a couple of times with no problems. I'm wary of over dependence on China now and anyway  lots of stuff seems out of stock now.

However I also had problems with a MS181C which we discussed here for a while on the what's on my bench thread.

Eventually I gave up and took an offer from @bmp01 to look at it. He found a number of faults but the principal one was a worn accelerator pump piston letting air past and weakening the mixture. Rather than replace the carb, as it was an old saw and uneconomic to replace, he somehow deleted the accelerator pump. It works fine now but less zippy to rev up.

OK thanks guys, looks like I will have to wait for stocks to arrive in the UK and get a genuine one.

Looks like I will be getting a new saw though as need to get some wood cleared.

Not sure which as if I got similar then I would have some spares, but the husqvarnas do seem appealing.

Thanks for your replies.

Mick

Would the top stratification choke tube with the purge line fit the new carb?

So swap the old 'top half' on to the new non purge bulb 'bottom half' ? That'd work I think and not much to go wrong with 'top half'.

Think I'd ditch the purge bulb if new was the only option. But just fix the old carb, such a waste and expense to bin it.

Yes, I ran a couple of tanks of fuel through the one you deleted the accelerator pump on and for simple logging I could not notice the lack of accelerator pump. The lady owner hasn't used it yet but I'm sure she will not feel it at all lacking.
