Hi. All.

I am filling some cracks on a acacia slab I have done the first pour of resin see pic and as it has dried it has sunk into the crack.

Should I sand it down then use more epoxy to fill the void or should I fill it before sanding.

Thanks.

Thanks. I thought that might be easier. I have another slab I just sanded some epoxy off and there is some spots need refilled I did not notice so I will try that first and see how it goes, the one in the pick is about 70% dry.

Beautiful looking slab of Acacia that by the way. The fluted exterior as much as the nice grain. It'll look lovely when finished I reckon. What is it going to be?

Thanks. It is going to be a little side table beside the sofa for coffee cups.

Had a look on line and they were ridiculous prices.

The slab, legs, epoxy and Rubio monocoat oil 2c plus came to a total of £120 I think they were going for around £350 to £450.

Very nice. What size is the slab?

Tip for you. Go all around the edges of the cracks with a snake of plasticine before you pour epoxy. It keeps it in like a dam. Or use some silicone sealant to do the same job.stops those falls happening in the fist place. Just overfill using the barrier and it will sink back into the gap as it moves.
