Join the club! Was quite wild around 10pm last night. Heard something go crash so ventured out to investigate.

 

 

Five trees down in total. Mostly cleared up now with minimal damage.

 

Power and phone line back up so that’s something.

That’s pretty shit Andy.
One of our beech trees that’s split down the middle is still standing and looking a bit precarious. Trouble is that with the continuing blow today it could go towards a graveyard building and do something similar.

This container roof is now about a foot lower than it should be, haven't even got to the doors yet. The lean-to with the box profile was less than a year old!

With a bit of butt clenching I managed to drop the concerning limb from the beech without hitting the cemetery shed or wall. I detest working a saw from Cherry pickers and am much happier on the ground. Put an anchor in off another tree with a Tifor winch and gave it a pull with my digger from a second strap after doing a small felling cut and backcut.
