Any thoughts on this fungus ID? On oak, SE England, and there's lots of possibly pin hole borer Frass all around the base. One side of the fence is a school, other side a busy park so could important!IMG_1630593005.419627.jpgIMG_1523.jpg

Are you able to go back and see how this has developed ina a few weeks time?

If the galleries only go under the bark and the run parallel to the surface then not so bad . If they go in board toward the center then not so good .

I have no experience of it. Might be the original infection point for the fungus.
