I think you're referring to this but not sure its what you're after...

You might wish to try the CAVAT handbook ( London Tree Officer's Association - Capital Asset Value for Amenity Trees (CAVAT) )or the Helliwell system handbook - both contain estimated life expectancy for tree species.

Its impossible to age a tree without a core, accuratley that is.

 

so many things influence a trees aged appearance and even girth when young semi mature. One trees rings may be considerably larger than the next, even of the same species

 

genetics, location/environment, fungi all influence growth and age/stress factors

A guide to the 'estimated' life expectancy of trees i think he was after hama....not how to tell the age of a tree.
