Its impossible to age a tree without a core, accuratley that is.

 

so many things influence a trees aged appearance and even girth when young semi mature. One trees rings may be considerably larger than the next, even of the same species

 

genetics, location/environment, fungi all influence growth and age/stress factors

A guide to the 'estimated' life expectancy of trees i think he was after hama....not how to tell the age of a tree.

i got told that the the avrage life span of a urban street tree is 10years

 

Lucky if you can get that long out of the poor stock, poorly planted into very hostile growing environments that we see every day down here in SE Qld. :>(
