CS h20: operation of a chainsaw from a boat/in water (hope not else i would have to get it)

 

Done that for many years on Inland Waterways allways fun :)

 

That cabin cruisers roof would have been fibre glass and is probably cracked. The water does absorb some of the impact though.

i do quite a lot of stuff that has dropped into the river as part of my work

 

one thing i have always be dubious about, is it ok to run the guide bar in the water

 

i know its not ideal and its not like i use a good saw for doing this, i use bio oil as well before i get shouted at but there are some situations where you have no choice but to do this? i always try and oil the bar and chain after use but is there anything else i should be worried about?

Heavy and awkward ??

yes more awkward on land dragging pipes but as soon as you get near water its useful because they are totally submersible, I used mine with diving gear on once in ~8ft of water :)
