I have a 50 metre Tachyon with spliced eye. Rarely used the rope. However, yesterday, I nicked the rope just under the splice with my silky.

I have decided to remove a metre or so at the splice end for LOLER and safety sake.

Question: Anyone in the south of england, or preferably south east would want to splice another in the line for me. As I said, rope is used but in excellent condition, bit gutted really but not the end of the world...

Cheers.

Rich.

I would do it for you but I would have to say that you wouldn't be able to use the spliced eye for a climbing attachment.

That would be cool, no worries, I don't climb on the splice anyway, it is just for show. :sneaky2:

I'll send you a PM.

As long as he knows about the inner core I would go with him Rich, Tachyon is a double braid with an extra inner core that has to be tapered as well. I won't charge for the splice however because the shipping from the smoke to Brizzel would be quite pricey.
