I’ve just been watching one then it does look awkward but I’d rather spend £6k and be no good than spend £13,000 and come to the same conclusion I’ll order this and if any good comes of it I’ll eventually look into the wp36 because that’s the one this start up is just a learning curve

I would hang on for good SH WP36. Good chance one will come up in the spring when log season is over. A friend had a cheap Chinese one like the Dominator and promptly sold it as it was awful to use. Think he has now gone for a top end stand alone splitter instead.

I have a japa 370 PTO with 15" cut and a Japa 300 (old 305 version) that cuts 12" I believe.  Hands down the 370 is twice as fast if not faster and more powerful.  That said it needs a tractor to power, log deck, digger & grab to load plus a fork lift to remove full crates to get full potential.  The smaller one is self sufficient, 1 man, road tow and i like using it on hand ball size logs.  can move to the log pile, move as timber pile is used up, also move as split pile/crates fill up.  Slower but good enough and less resourses required.  If I get anything too big for it I can ring with a chainsaw and manually put in splitter part and chisel in down to fit.  The 305 is a good machine but thirsty, and might not be the fastest or most powerful however it may be the best alrounder for your tasks.  Even if you added a cheap splitter you could power if off the processor and your covered for larger stuff too.
