Schliesing 235 MX

We have a 220(I think) at work, it's a far nicer machine to use compared to a timber wolf. Much bigger hopper, variable infeed is very useful for larger/dead timber. We keep blades changed regularly, several sets in rotation so keeps it chipping well!
Infeed is large enough to stuff the hopper with brambles/thorns/ivy and use a snow shovel to force it through

A mate recently had a new road-tow Schliesing and it was a bag of shit from day 1, and there is absolutely no dealer backup.
And it was £30k I believe!!!
He’s always had them, swears by them, and is the most meticulous person with his kit that I know. Whether his new machine was a one-off lemon or not I don’t know - what I do know is that the dealers (who are the importers I think) did nothing to help him out and he eventually lost two days dragging it the length of the country back to them and subsequently going back to collect it, with no assistance/goodwill from them at all.
I would proceed with extreme caution...

What problems did he have with the machine?

I’m not 100% sure but a load of stuff came loose/undone (as though it hadn’t been tightened up in the factory or during PDI), I’ve got a feeling the flywheel or a cover moved so the blades were fouling, and the hydraulic pump drive failed (all at different times in the first couple of weeks).
All significant issues, with no support from the supplier until they said ‘bring it back to us and we will look at it in our workshop’.
Terrible service - if it had been mine and I’d had to take it back to them I’d have made the journey once and returned with my money.
£30k for a 6 inch chipper with no support unless you are local to the supplier - no thank you very much!!!
