Hamadryads big phat fungi thread!

Post 42, the first the fungi looks out of place, like someone stuck it on strange. Are these all photos you have taken by you where you live or all over the place

 

I visit several ancient woodlands weekly, sometimes daily, ashridge pk, whippedell wood, hatfield forest and burnham beeches, as well as all the gardens and trees I get accses to daily.

 

all my photos yes, all south east of englan. herts beds and bucks

Hatfield Forest is very special, I did some voluntary work in the early 1980's on the outskirts of St Albans (near Tyttenhanger)..heard talk of this great place Hatfield Forest...foolishly thought it would be near Hatfield...ah well very lovely county Herts.

If you want to see special, and indeed Hatfield is, but try Bradgate deer pk, its the kind of place where you get so spoilt for choice of magnificant veterans you start walking by ones that if you saw them on an average day you would go mental! theres just so many great trees there.

No, never heard of it? where is that then? i am always looking for new wood!

 

it's private Tony, I was lucky to have a walk around with Olly Rackham about 10 years ago.

 

Would love to get back in, to have another gander
