We got some of the concrete ones from these guys last year for a couple of jobs:

Schwegler are the best boxes out there for birds and bats, not cheap but very good quality, they are made of woodcrete which is a lot harder wearing than normal wooden boxes,

 

Alana Ecology Schwegler Bird Boxes

 

i generally use Alana ecology, they might not be the cheapest but they are the easiest to deal with for larger orders,

 

NHBS - For the best books on earth, worldwide I have also used NHBS before and can recommend them as well if they are cheaper,

you can make them yourself its easy you may find plans on the bat conservation trust website How to Make a Bat Box - Bat Conservation Trust

Spend as much as you can, or construct specific Bat habitats in your tree. The cheaper Bat boxes rarely work.

 

Perhaps you can strap lengths of splitting timber to the tree? Preferably on the sunny side.

 

Apparently it works well and is habitat for a more diverse range of insects.
