My yard in Essex broken into last night, they cut and broke through 5 locks damaged my shipping container and also the door to a lock up and stole gransfors bruks splitting maul and carving axe, Engish side axe, fuel container and also 12 traditional walking sticks mainly with antler & buffallo horn handles.

The odd thing is they let behind various power and hand tools, arc welding kit and thankfully my log splitter.

Hope that if they use the splitting maul they make a mistake because it was well honed with enough weight to do some real damage.

Lawrence, is that you mate??

Do you have an pics of the stuff that was stolen? As they are slightly more unusual items they may easier to spot at sales/car boots etc

Sorry to say that is another lesson i've learn't the hard way, would have been handy for when the police turned up as they didn't have a clue about what the stuff was. In future I'll be keeping a lot more photo's.

My wife had a site visit at a church in GT Yarmouth yesterday. The architect put his ladder up against the church, they then proceeded to go round the back, ten minutes later they return to the front only to see a white van driving off with the ladder on board. Now the thieves have the ladder they will probably be back to take the lead of the roof.

You must know the bodgers that go by Maple Tree surgery, a lad from college has his yard in a wood in Billericay

Sorry to say I don't knowingly know either, but I may well have crossed paths with the bodgers as it tends to be a very small world.

did they use bottles or croppers to get in

Bolt croppers used on most of the paddlocks and the cover over the lock on the container but also metal bar to pry a door that had mortice lock with hasp and staple.
