Here are some pictures of the Cedar being felled yesterday. The tree survey found that the tree had cubicle rot so was dangerous and had to be felled as it was next to a house and road. During the snowfall in December it lost 4 large limbs so the owners were concerned that during this snowfall it could possibly lose more.

I'm afraid to say that we are going to chip it. Its no good for anything else because of the cubicle rot. It is a shame though.

How do you reduce the size of the big timber for chipping? Wood cracker?

 

Nice pictures, missed oppertunity for a lunge though!
