Centre Parcs trees

Spent New Year at Elveden Centre Parcs (Thetford Forest).

I've been loads of times, to all the CP's in the country (after thinking it would be crap!).

Loads of trees, obviously, many in very close proximity to structures.

Has anyone done much work in any of the Centre Parcs sites, and do they do their tree management etc. in-house or externally?

No angle here (they are all a long way from Kent!). Just interested.

Used to work at Elveden CP, not as an arb. I would imagine that they have thier own team? or send people over from Elveden/Lynford Arborteum/F.Commison people.Only just started arb when I worked there, noticed lots of stumps and such, bits of pruning in the plaza etc, so they definetely have something going on. Have a good time mate?

Like yourself I have been a regular visitor to center parcs for the last 10 years and only last year have I seen contractors working on site. Before I got pulled away by the kids on there bikes I had a quick gander, Valtra tractor with roof mounted crane with rather large pto chipper, a couple of guys with saws and it seemed that centre parcs were removing the chip around site with tractors and trailers. Didn't catch the contractors name though, this was up at sherwood forest cp...

I know of a couple of different contractors working on various CP sites.

The one up at Whinfell is maintained to some extent by ther own team but the woodland management and thinning operations are undertaken by the landowner, Lowther.

I have also picked up materials from the Sherwood site from a contractor undertaking the felling works.
