Negative wired to the earth jumping point under the bonnet.

 

Positive wired to the main wire coming into the fuse box under the bonnet. This is wired direct to the battery so saves trying to get a cable under the drivers seat.

 

Your may have twin batteries in which case you could run the cables under the car to the battery in the boot if you wanted.

 

We also wired a keyed isolator into the Positive cable so the winch is always off unless we need it. 

 

The clutch can be accessed by popping out the VW badge if you want to. The rhino winch has wireless remotes so I just reverse the rope out with the remote. Just means its a bit slower but if your stuck you ain't going anywhere anyway ??

 

We just welded a 6mm steel plate onto the crash bar to provide somewhere to bolt the winch plate to.

 

Looks far better tucked into the bumper and plenty of room for it too.
