So excuse my ignorance if this is a stupid question but got to ask ! I have changed the band guide bearings and all the bolts ,so my question is are they ment to turn as the band goes round I have set them up with a mill clearance but with it all being new to me just not sure so as with anything if you don’t know ask .

If I'm reading right and it's the inch diameter ones on the bottom of the blade there should be a very small gap from memory. The blade should only touch them when you're pushing hard.

So that’s what I read but I have adjusted the one side like 3/4 times and every time I cut a board it’s moving with the band and I am only cutting 15mm WRC so not pushing that hard so what’s going on

If they turn that's fine, they are there to stop you pushing the band off.

If you think about it, the band is a flexible piece of thin metal and the gap between the back edge of the band and the guide bearing is the thickness of a business card, it's not going to take a great amount of pressure to bend the band enough to touch the bearing.

What you don't want is the bearing to seize up, that is when you'll have a problem.

Hi Thanks Mr Forest it makes sense to me now ,it’s just all new to me I have never helped anybody with a bandmill so I am finding out all these little things on my own ,but happy as to have a bandmill just need a cheap 3 phase power supply for my thicknesser

You're welcome, it's always better to ask then to damage the machine or worse yourself
