Hi, i’ve got an old BC620i with a Hatz 2G40 engine. It was given to me in a rather sorry state after about 5 years of poor storage outside. Anyway, it needs a new belt and i’m having trouble locating one. It’s my first foray into the world of chipper belts and maintenance so i’m learning as i go.

the belt is a dual band v belt and theres on ebay but its in the usa and comes to a whopping $144

the current belt is marked 8DSS

and i believe is a b73/02 and i think the original belt is coded V-86522-001.

So i’m sure someone here can point me in the right direction to get a new one.

Most bearing stockists also do belts etc. With those numbers they should be able to source you one,

Hi there, we also have a BC620i. We swapped the engine for a Deutz when the Hatz give up. We run two separate belts. Take your belt to Compass Bearings & Engineering Supplies in Rainford and they should help you out. If not try Engineering Services In Widnes but they are a bit more expensive

Got two separate belts for it midweek from engineering services in widnes, it runs much better now and cost about £24. Great ???

Worth noting that two separate belts can be +/-3% on width, +/-3.5% on height, +/-3° on angle unless ordered specifically as a matched pair. You may find one is doing a bit more work than the other until it sits down in the groove and is re tensioned . Bonded pairs or multiples are exactly the same length.
