Running a temporary path up to a garden office. Scrounged a few slabs to use as stepping stones and will surround them with granite chip. What something to create an edge between the path and the grass. Ultimately the whole garden is going to be landscaped therefore looking for a cheap option for the edging for now. Any suggestions?

4x1 timber with some pegs?

That’s a crude option I hadnt considered. As it happens I reckon there’s just enough timber on this pallet to do the job

The 4x2 runners will want cut down the middle and a point cut on them so there easily rattled into the ground

6x1 treated edging boards and 1" site pegs are peanuts to buy and save any messing around. Will also last longer than a year in the ground, unlike hazel or pallet wood.
