Converting a 200tbto 1/4 bar and chain?

I have a few 200t’s and thought about converting one to 1/4 chain, say like a 150 bar and chain. Is this possible?

Yes its possible. Someone on here did it a while back and rated it. Personally i wouldnt, i think itll eat the little bars quite fast, and be annoying to sharpen. But will give a nice fast smooth cut. You'll need a 1/4 plastic worm drive as well for the oiler

i have seen it done. it cuts well very well but unfortunately eats chains - the 200t is a bit too powerful for such lightweight cutting equipment

I’ve done it and I can report back that it’s a beast. The saws ported, cylinder and exhaust and I put my orange GB 150 bar - which seems real strong, and I’m using the northern arb ms150 chain, which isn’t quite as good on a 150 as the stihl chain but is stronger and fine on this. It’s balanced perfectly and absolutely flies!

Sweet, that size chain is a probably the best compromise of small and strong ( stronger than the 150 chain). Is it chattery like the other northern arb chain is?

It’s awful straight out of the box/bag but after a few sharpens it’s fine. It’s easier to sharpen than the stihl chain as it take a 4mm file instead of 3.2mm and the rakers are easier to set.
