Whipped the motor off, no need to run it up. Looks like oil seal onto output shaft blown.

Just looks like sealant though rather than a seal. Also looks like someone’s been in with a chisel, which is never a good sign. Bit of a shock for something that’s had little use and is only two years old.

A day messing about, time lost on machine and probably couple of hundred quid to get it rebuilt I imagine. In real terms probably already cost more than the new equivalent, sometimes you just can’t win ?

I’d price a complete motor off Flowfit before chucking time/money at a repair too - they can be surprisingly cheap brand new!

Waiting for approved and fliwfit to come with prices, but want it sorted so I’ve just put into the shop anyway. Two may be useful!

The drain goes back to a valve block and terminates there not returning to tank on a third line. There’s only the two standard lines coming out of that block to the digger.

Thats how it’s been running so assumed it’s ok but maybe I need to do a different set up?? It was a similar spec machine to mine.

You can plumb case drains into the return line if they run freely enough (in simple terms) - if the valve block essentially does this then it’s probably fine. I’d try and contact the manufacturer to see how it is supposed to be plumbed in case it has been modified and is causing issues.

It’s a femac and approved didn’t say anything when I sent various photos across to try to work it out so hopefully it’s all set and just blown a seal from lack of use. ? it’s that optimism that gets me in the shit in the first place.

Thanks for all the pointers on this ?
