The slave cylinder will be the same unit that goes on most of the om366 powered range from 814 to 1317 and maybe as high at the 1818/1820

Any 3rd party truck factors place should be able to sort out a new slave cylinder.

Is the clutch peddle not spring loaded to return it to the top of its stroke.

Dose it look like it has had a new clutch master cylinder on it as the “throw” of the adjusting rod may be out as could a new peddle upper bump-stop vs. the adjusting rod etc or any switch for a starting interlock

Might not be the slave cylinder . My Merc 814 suffers from a similar problem and it turns out after replacing the slave cylinder that the actual problem is the clutch fluid oil. Oil now gets flushed out every 2 years and rebleed to produce good pedal.

ha, i have just got a new master cylinder for it, then if thats not it we will do the slave cylinder, but i will get the lad to change the fluid since he is at it john, cheers. did you go for a certain type??

Sorry I dont know what type I leave it to the experts who look after my vehicle but apparently certain types of clutch fluid can react with the metal lines and produce air bubbles which is why the pedal degrades over time. It is more noticeable on a long distance journey as the clutch fluid heats up. I have come back on several journeys not being able to use first gear because of this problem until we identified it was the fluid at fault.
