i have done similar but find a old file pointy end and just hot enough to melt but not too hot go halfway then turn over and do opposite and use some throwline

nice tight compact hole:001_tt2:cant beat it:thumbup:

 

ahhh thats where i went wrong , i will remember that for next time lol :thumbup:

You lost me, I thought you were splicing the end of the rope?

 

If the problem is attaching a (retrieval) loop to the end of the rope, can’t it simply be “whipped” on?

 

if you whip the eye on, make sure it doesnt look strong enough to climb on because if it is, it may get climbed on. i done it and accidently climbed on it and it happened to a friend as well.:blushing:
