Snow/ice clearance

had an idea buzzing in my head since this cold snap arrived about clearing snow and ice from drives, work yards, lanes etc. In my area there are loads of private estates which dont get gritted by the council, business yards and so on. Surely people may pay for this service, but how much to charge and how? So much a m2? I can easily add on to my Insurances for cover, so thats not an issue. Of course, getting several houses to get together to pay may have its hassles. Ideas?

We grit some of our estates. I've got a little tow behind gritter. On the site's there are grit bins provided. We shovel the grit out of them and tow it along behind the compact or more recently just use the van/car. Can be a pain in the arse though, what's the trigger for gritting? I have two thermometers that the residents or security can read then we'll go off that. Normally doesn't get done till the evening when you want to be having tea/a beer etc. You'll never get rich doing it but it is an extra string to the bow, especially if you can find someone semi-retired to go and do it for you.
