I've used eltens and meindls. Everyone i used to work with wore eltens....now most people wear meindls. Eltens chewed my feet to bits and didn't last too long. Not had any problems with my airstreams and none with the pros before that.

Don't skimp on boots, you'll regret it.

For climbing, remember that you'll need to wear spikes sometimes. So you need a boot with well defined heel / sole division i.e. not rounded off in any way, so spikes sit nice and firm.

As far as best value for money boots go, I'd recommend the haix Blue mountain. I've had mine a couple of years, still dry and warm, even in sub-zero temps. Very comfy boots, uppers last well, soles now getting tired, excellent traction in all conditions.:thumbup1:

Can anyone tell me of a shop in Central, North or west Kent where they have more than one type of boot in stock. The shops I've been too say that they will order them in and I can try them but I want to try one a few at the same time and check the fit. Can't be arsed trying one every two weeks! Cheers.
