For me using a bench grinder is the way to go.

Easy to use, gives a great sharp finish and its quick and easy to use.

I have found that there is no need to buy an expensive one.

Spend £40 to £60 and you will soon get your money back on the time you save.

Personally I like the Sthil two in one easyfile tool,  that sharpens the tooth and takes the raker down at the same time.   I did buy a cheap ( £100 ish from memory) bench grinder at an arb show but did not get on with it.  When I wanted a new chain holder for it the company said they were not selling the machine any more and had no spares for it.
