just where it rubbed or something

mine had a melt point after a couple of uses but did not notice how it had done it tbh

might have been on the retriever end that got pushed up against a branch and rope

but ran a rope across afterwards and melted quite easily

Right, I have played around a bit and made a bodge job with a bowline loop, prussik attached to a micro pulley and ALOT of electrical tape.

Trouble is the pulley only just takes through 13mm of rope. No more.

Therefore retrieval is impossible because of two reasons;

With a spliced eye, the climbing line will not go through the pulley then onto the retrieval line.

Without a spliced eye, the climbing line will go through the pulley, but will also go through the retrieval line.

Apart from the art cocoon, could someone let me know of a pulley than will accommodate for a spliced eye whilst being small enough to go through the loop when retrieving.

Thanks

personally i would stop waisting your time and spend the money on an art friction saver , i have had one for 12 months now and highly recomend them , fair enough they do cost a bit but you get what you pay for IMO i use mune with a lock jack and would not go back to using a friction hitch any more , im now looking to get another friction saver and have been told that art do a deulux version using rope instead of webing , does anyone know if this is the case ???
