Im not sure why im asking this question as i think i know what your all going to say but, After hopefully passing all the courses would i be able to jump straight in the trees, or do you have to be a grounds man first.

To be fair mate when you first pass you'll be quite slow to start with until you get a bit more confidence.

If we have someone new start, they start off draaging and doing donkey work until we decide if they've got the right stuff. If they have then when we've got some spare time on a job we'll get them climbing.

It sounds like your very keen though mate so i imagine you'll be jumping about quite quickly. It helps if you can get with a good company too who are willing to spend time teaching and encouriging you.

Good luck with it all mate.

My time to agree

Although your obviously really keen and "IF" you get with the right company you may find yourself climbing alot more than you think, Although in your other threads you say your setting up on your own, Id advise against that mate and get a feel for the job with a good company first :thumbup1:

Thanks snake for you advice there and yes to Mozza i am thinkin of setting up on my own i was thinking of just doing small tree's in back gardens nothing to serious to begin with, The truth is guys I've been out of work for 8 months now Im a ceiling fixer by trade and its not looking to good for the forseable future, so my partners father has given me an opportunity to change my career by sponsoring me, Paying for the courses and tools and equipment and then he'll take a percentage of what i earn in the future, bit like a silent partner really, Im 30 years old now so i know this is a brilliant opportunity and dont think i will ever get another as good, ever

You seem to be very aware of the crossroad that you've come to in life, Conway. The 'seriousness' of the situation doesn't seem to be lost on you - that's good.

So, because of the potential for things to go very well or very badly (over the next few years) you need to consider every option and work through each challenge carefully. Asking advice from a forum such as this is a good start.

And with advice from these 'three wise men' how can you go wrong!

The Christmas spirit even has them agreeing with each other.

Good luck - and keep us up to date.
