You need to remember that you are not only wanting the haulier to move the timber, but possibly to load and unload it aswell. Either way the price is fair imo. You would only get a better rate if you wanted a dozen or so loads. Guys in our area would charge a minimum of £6.50/tonne to move wood a mile up the road
