Hi all. I’m trying to find out what this tree is as it’s in poor health due to some of its roots being cut as it is on a boundary. Need to know what it is first. Any info would be a good start.

Lilacs are resilient; it would take a very considerable root hack to kill that.  One option for you could be to cut the whole thing hard after flowering - say a month from now - and see how much comes back.
