Hey monkey boy, shouldn't have a problem with your trusty husky helmet so long as it has a chin strap. The forestry ones have a long peak to keep the rain off though, and this restricts vision apparently! The arborist one has a cut down peak so is fine.

Two years on these, so just as its getting trusty, its time to get a new one!!

I use my husky for on the floor and and the edelrid when climbing. maybe i'm ust spoilt having a helmet for each job i do. i have coats for all applications too, usualy never leave home without about seven or so just in case!!!

Having said that about the husky arborist helmet, the chin straps are really only there to hold the helmet in place and not that great for side impacts which is more likely in the tree.

I stand by my Edlelrid in the tree and husky on the deck!

says so on the bottom of the box:001_tongue:

Hey - I was going to buy a new one but asked again to check how long the Vertex is good for you. The supplier phoned Petzl for me to check and they said 10 years!

Ten years if you keep it in the box in a cool dark place and never wear it! If you read the accompanying caveats to that ten year life span there is no way it can last that long under commercial conditions

Yes of course. Still different from a 3 year guarantee though?

I've run out of Petzl helmets at the moment so can't check the small print. This is what it says in the Rock blurb attached to the helmet (after all the normal stuff about throwing it away after serious impact and keep it away from solvents, paints etc.) 'The properties of the helmet do not alter during approximately 3 years if the above mentioned instructions are followed. After this period it is highly recommended to replace the helmet'
