no mate but have heard epping is awesome?

 

its sherwood but you have to come of the track for a few miles to get to these, like it that way better lose your self more.....

 

argh the forest of sherwood! awesome place been there myself, and your right, orf the beaten track is best, always:biggrin:

 

I especialy like it when there are signs urging one to keep out, thats like a rag to a bull with me!:lol:

going to sherwood for new year, can't wait:biggrin:

 

you will love it, as above though to see some beauties you need to loose the puplic.....:sneaky2:

 

oh yeah going to the Caledonia forest this year be sure to take my camera

am i right in saying it is the oldest woodland in the uk? the Caledonia forest that is?

 

it would be hard to say for certain, but certainly the proper last fragments of it are, the moss dominated boggy bits most certainly the last wildwoods:thumbup1:

 

keep your eyes open for Chaga aka the clinker polypore a black crusty thing on beeches up there, and look out for special lichens!:thumbup1:
