Did you notice it running any better apart from it all getting good and hot? Maybe its needs the little bit of pipe to shoot the hot fumes away?
Yes it was definitely running better but the heat ended up making the zorst cover brittle and as a result it cracked and fell to pieces and didn't fancy the same with the chain brake cover. I'm hoping to get it off to spud at some point for a full port and muffler mod

I’ve not had any problems with mine. I adjusted the h jet a tad when tuning in the wood just to the point when it stopped gurgling. The only thing that happened was once I burnt a big hole in my trouser leg, but that was my fault!
