MS 660 Starting Problem

Looking for some advice from more machine-minded people than me.

2 days ago while cutting up a Palm, my (not very old) 660 stopped in the same manner as if it had run out of fuel. There was plenty in the tank, allowed it to 'rest' for a bit and it started again without a problem, then stopped and won't go again.

I've checked for a spark and there is one, the cylinder smells of fuel, but it's not going bang!

Before I attempt a carb strip-down, I was wondering if anyone has any other ideas?

Oh yeah, the tank filter is clean.

might want to check the tank breather its a plastic pipe with a threaded screw inon top of the tank, in it take out the threaded screw and hacksaw a slot 90 degres to the threads then put back in u should be able to blow trough it.this being blocked give the same symtoms as running out of fuel, hope this helps
