i was thinking of trying one of those with an x ring in either end probably of different size to enable remote setting and removal.

so iam wondering whether tennex hollow braid or a double braid would be best, i guess the tennex would be easier.

Tenex tech is easier for sure, but picks easily so maybe not ideal for remote retrieval?

You'll struggle to splice a double braid both ends with a short length. Hollow braid is the only way really.

thanks for the replies, im pretty green when it comes to splicing, so the tennex seems the better option although it is a loose weave.

when doing an xring either end , are the splices the same or do you have to do a different one once you already have the first one on?

Its possible to locking brummel boths ends, form both eyes before putting the rings in place. Get tenex tec, its a twin carrier so a little more hard wearing than regular tenex.

might try the teffelburger Trex as it seems similar and more available, that is if i ever actualy get round to it.
