Here you go, took some pics of mine, but sounds like some of these harnesses dont have the lablel. Note the EN numbers are the same on side Ds as the gold rings;

if you look at the ratings on the label there, you can see on the brass rings that there is a trillion attached by a carabiner to one side and another carabiner going to the other side, so this would eliminate the need for a QuickDraw and the need for any other chunks of metal. Because it's designed to be an extra set anyway?!

Rob, not sure i fully understand what you mean, do you mean to clip a krab of a lanyard into the gold ring?

 

If so, would that not be introducing the risk of damage to the webbing attached to the gold ring, as Tom D said at the beginning of the thread?

Yeah that's what I mean. But recalling what he said, that's why the QuickDraw and a maillon rapide seem like a good idea. I would assume that when going onto the lanyard that it would be possible just to check where thekrab was going to pull against to check it wasn't going to pinch the bridge fabric? I've not had a chance to try it yet. But when I donill have to see how well it works. Surely petzl would have looked into this matter of metal against fabric?

Had a closer look at the label, and it does show a krab clipped directly onto the gold ring:sneaky2:

The Bridge on the Seqoiua is easy to replace, maybe thats why they dont care ?

Ouch, you're totally right ! Hmm, and the Rings are (unfortunately) not availible as spare Parts (I'd love to have them on my Treeflex...).

Maybe wait till someone is getting rid of it and buy it for a cheap price and steal the parts? If they aren't worn out anyway!

Sounds expensive, and I dont know if I'd like to use the Rings of a worn out Harness. But I am totally open for offers !

 

And btw, I'd have no problem clipping Biners into the Rings I think, you dont do it that often in daily use...

 

But fairly spoken (<- is that correct English ?) the Treemotion has a really nice Solution for that application !

the treemotion does have a good solution. The tree austria 2 harness (i think thats what its called) has a second set of rings aswell which are similar to the petzl but the rings stick out more and are more obviously a second set of rings. I will have to try out this method when i next climb, which could be in the new year.

 

Well with the worn out harness, the rings may not necessarily be worn, but it could be some stitching or something causing it to be put out of use, the rings should last a lifetime i would reckon.
