I only ever use phillips unless there's something old and rusty or such like then I go and pull out one the otherwise pristine and unused pozi drives. But for routine work, the phillips never gives me any bother.

Pozidrive have an extra 4 points/ridges, mini intermediate ones that sit in between the principal 4. That's why they won't fit into Phillips screws. As well as the angles being different.
