I have that on an 039. I’ve pointed the screw slot at the top end of the adjustment range and it appears to be oiling more than it was. Local shop told me it was a clutch off fix if I wanted it any better sorted.

Well it’s very easy fix, that is to take the oil pump out and put a new one in. And yes it’s a clutch off job..  But an oem oiler is not cheap, there are other ways, like secondhand or cheapy-China ?.

but you could say if someone has played with it in the past, or you haven’t had the saw for long, as they only go round and round if the stop tab has broken off or someone thought it would make it oil more.

i had an 600 oiler that was using about a 1/4 of a tank of oil to a tank of fuel with a 36” bar and  turned up to the max. I fiddled with it, then gave up and put a vachina oiler in it
