you are right and wrong, the party that the majority voted for gets in (unless it is hung) but the policies they promised change in accordance with changing fiscal and political priorities. if they break too many promises, the INFORMED electorate will remember and clobber them at the next election. A fair amount of the uniformed will just vote what ever their daily paper says.

eg Kinnock had it in the bag til the Sun said "last one to leave the country turn off the lights"

and the libdems promise of student fees fecked them over.

who here feels we will be better off financially in the first 10 years after Brexit?

some, esp those with their own Hedge Fund of 100 million, might think independence is worth the price. to be honest, i would probably think the same, mine is purely an economic argument.

now not even Eggs or Rod Liddle, both extreme contrarians, can argue with that!!!

Contraian, doesn't that mean someone against what is in favour?

Whats not in favour about a vote being won by a majority, and then carrying through what was voted for?

Can you answer the above question though?

Are you a town councilman? I’d go into full time politics if I was you?

You've got the hump because it hasn't gone your way.

No argument there, but FFS lets stop skipping the first step and proposing another referendum. It's done! The people voted and whether they were poorly informed, voted for the wrong reasons, or whatever,it doesn't matter. You can't move the goalposts in the middle of the game and say it doesn't count.

I don't think that anyone with an IQ above a single digit believes that it's going to be easy, that immediately everything will be better and we'll all be financially better off than before. But that's what we have democratically voted for, we've made our bed and no political shenanigans should be accepted to deviate from that path. If it's a mistake it's the countries mistake and we, as a democratic country, must live with it.

yes i have.

but...do you think we will be financially better off out the EU and have things changed enough for electorate and politicians to change their mind. I feel like Paxman here.

this is all good practice to trying to worm an answer out of JRM on Thursday

To tell you the truth I'm running out of patience with folk like you. If you think you can tell me I'm talking bollox, then ask me to be serious in return you are mistaken. I very nearly told you to go and.... yourself. Don't start threads about politics, or even join in to them if you don't want to hear other people's opinions.

I, like you don't know for sure if we will be financially better off.

that is rich. if so easily upset or do not have the patience perhaps you are the one that shouldn't join in these threads. where have i said do not want to hear your opinions? pardon me for not agreeing with them. it seems you can dish it but not take it.

You've got more chance of knitting snot than upsetting me. I wasn't the one throwing his teddy because I couldn't have my own way. I also wasn't the one that resorts to snide remarks. Get yourself on QT with the sort of argument you've presented here and you will get laughed out of the studio. Laters.

Having spoken and or corresponded with the pair of you, I believe that you'd get on in a social setting over a pint or two. (maybe avoid politics if you ever do though):D
