So yes, the Picus in this case cannot be relied on entirely as the decay below this point will undoubtedly be worse. Its a case of assessing what we have found and making a plan based on the liklihood of there being more decay. In this case being roadside we will err on the side of caution.

 

Substantial sized tree though, and I don't think its going to be toppling over just yet!

Interesting. Root radar is a fairly costly exercise I believe. Make sense on the plan forward. Good to know a little bit more about Picus testing. 

 

Some time down the line, I do want to get some of our trees tested.

Well you're not  a million miles away from me. Providing you can get more than 1 tree for me to test i'd be more than happy to travel.

Yep. I PM'ed you some months back about it. Somewhere along the line.... Funds may become available..... :thumbup1:
