And once you do get taken on in forestry don't expect to make good money from the off, unless you are lucky enough to get into big timber clearfell. First thinnings and tight woodland as a beginner can equal small tonnage along with poor earnings. 

As someone else said, if you hang in there without injuries you'll become fitter than ever?

Thanks for all the input so far people! It's very much appreciated! 

 I think I'm on track with a few things too look into. 

 I'm getting the EFAW+F done as soon as possible. 

 I'll be putting money aside as I will more than likely have to fund my own training. Full time courses may be the final option if all else fails as FMOC is the end game. 

 I'll most likely do a couple of the chainsaw tickets to get the ball rolling and learn the basics-as suggested i've looked into a few jobs on estates locally which may be a starting point.

 In the meantime I'll be contacting companies to get my name out there and hopefully land an opportunity- keep your fingers crossed for me folks!

Mate, learn the basics first, if your a builder, and you can't use a trowel, and lay bricks you'll never build a house. Same applies to Arb and forestry, you have to learn the basics first, CS 30 and 31basic chainsaw work and felling, then move up to greater things. Good Luck in your quest in Forestry.
