get parcels delivered to work. just opened one up...500 bluebell bulbs!

texted wife. "did you get these?"

"yes, thought you could plant them in the wood"

 

thanks, as if I havent got other less back breaking work to do. Plus my wood is Lowland ash with Dog's Mercury so don't know if they will even take.

might just throw them around and say mice ate them. when I find out how much they cost they might be on ebay later

Are they English bulbs?

 

if they’re not, the reason not to plant them is the foreign bulbs hybridise freely with our native bluebells and are making making them quite rare. 

 

If theyre English, get planting!

i just wondered if your better half was as environmentally aware as your good self - after my missus bought a Tulip tree for our 20ft square back garden.

 

Do you know big that gets?

 it has nice flowers!

it grows to 70+ ft

you can prune it
