thanks, as if I havent got other less back breaking work to do. Plus my wood is Lowland ash with Dog's Mercury so don't know if they will even take.

might just throw them around and say mice ate them. when I find out how much they cost they might be on ebay later

According to nature's secret larder Dog's Mercury will cohabit with bluebells and violets. You don't need to bend your back to plant them, dib a slot with a posting spade and drop them in then tread it shut.

if they’re not, the reason not to plant them is the foreign bulbs hybridise freely with our native bluebells and are making making them quite rare.
