Sounds the same as I have. Never seen it for sale though so have you a link?

 

If it's the same then yes it works well. The bars stop pooling of the water on the cover. My bars are now a bit slack in the track and can drop out putting the cover on but still work and could well be as old as the truck so 10 years old.

Yes mine is not quite like that. There is a frame fitted to the tub which has toggles to hold the cover at the front and 3 rails much like in your link but they locate in the frame. I think you will need 3 rails or a lot of curve on 2 to stop pooling on a single cab cover

Used one years ago minus the rain bars.  They are ok.  The one we had was on an old Hilux which still had the external lashing points.  Was useful for firewood orders as you could mostly cover a rounded load and stretch the bungy over the lashing points.  With the newer trucks that come with the frame and toggles this won't be an option though.


I prefer the roll top covers, although obviously a lot more money.  Plus you lose a fair amount of room at the front for the cannister.
