Thinking of buying a cover for my single cab hilux and like the look of the sheet with bungee ties and rain bars. Anyone had any experience? Are they worth the money? I want something that can be easily removed as I won’t be needing it every day

Sounds the same as I have. Never seen it for sale though so have you a link?

If it's the same then yes it works well. The bars stop pooling of the water on the cover. My bars are now a bit slack in the track and can drop out putting the cover on but still work and could well be as old as the truck so 10 years old.

Yes mine is not quite like that. There is a frame fitted to the tub which has toggles to hold the cover at the front and 3 rails much like in your link but they locate in the frame. I think you will need 3 rails or a lot of curve on 2 to stop pooling on a single cab cover

I had that one from rough trax. When not in use it just rolls up behind the back window. Or to remove takes a couple of minutes and same to refit I only had to rails with mine just light ally that wedged from side to side lasted years.

Used one years ago minus the rain bars.  They are ok.  The one we had was on an old Hilux which still had the external lashing points.  Was useful for firewood orders as you could mostly cover a rounded load and stretch the bungy over the lashing points.  With the newer trucks that come with the frame and toggles this won't be an option though.

I prefer the roll top covers, although obviously a lot more money.  Plus you lose a fair amount of room at the front for the cannister.
