I would want it on the outside. To put more belt on the pulleys so it could be run at a lower tension without slipping. 

 

But it looks like those belts would be to long to run it the other way.

Thanks BB, set my mind at ease.

 

On another note, I have not heard of the upgraded engine, got time to tell us about it?
